One of the biggest dilemas and questions in interior design today. Everywhere you look now there's a push for beautiful white sofas and fabrics. It can be a tough decision!
Here is your guide to answering that question.
1) Does it come in a performance/contract fabric? Most performance fabrics wipe clean with a little soap and water and it a wonderful option.
2) Do you have pets or young kids and is this your main sofa? If so then maybe reconsider for now- perhaps a light gray or taupe. Opt for maybe an accent chair or ottoman for yourself if you want to incorporate white.
3) How often do you clean or have cleaning available to you? White shows alot of specks, just like darker sofas show alot as well. Vacumming daily or once a week is helpful if the sofa gets alot of use.
4) Consider an off-white ivory option, this just looks better in my opinion for a more casual comfy look. Very white sofas look great in formal areas, with beautiful luxury throw pillows to accent them.
5) Sofa covers are available but often don't look great, we see these all over the internet but I prefer having to spot clean over seeing a large sock over my sofa cushions. Slipcovered sofas look wonderful in a coastal envirnoment but also require work with cleaning.
Hope this helps!
